What is a Fire Damper?
A fire damper is a critical passive fire protection product that is designed to stop a fire from spreading inside a duct and through fire resistance rated wall, floors that lead to other parts of your building. In the event of any rise of temperate the Damper will close usually activate by the thermal element which melts at temperatures above ambient but low enough to indicate the presence of a fire. They can also close following a signal from your fire alarm system, depending on installed detectors remote from the Damper.

Passive Fire Protection (PFP)
Passive fire protection (PFP) is an integral component of the components of structural fire protection and fire safety in buildings. PFP attempts to contain fires or at the very least slow the spread, such as by fire-resistant walls, floors, and doors. PFP systems must comply with the associated listing and approval use and compliance in order to provide the effectiveness expected by building codes.
That is why we work closely with all parties to create bespoke Passive Plans to create a cost-effective fire stopping solution that will be compliant with all relevant legislation and industry standards.
